Inclusive Halloween Fun Returns to St. Bonaventure
Annual event offers accessible trick-or-treating for children of all abilities while teaching empathy and inclusion to future leaders

OLEAN, NY – October 26, 2025 – Magro Speech Therapy is proud to announce the return of its 3rd Annual Inclusive Trick or Treat event, a unique Halloween celebration that ensures children with disabilities and special needs can fully enjoy the spooky season. The event will take place on Sunday, October 26, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Richter Center on the St. Bonaventure University campus. Admission is free, but advance registration is required through the Magro Speech Therapy website.

This one-of-a-kind event reimagines the traditional trick-or-treat experience to be safe, sensory-friendly, and fully accessible. Families can expect thoughtfully adapted trick-or-treat stations, sensory supports, and accommodations designed to meet a wide range of abilities—ensuring every child feels welcome and included.

Fostering an Inclusive Community

The Inclusive Trick or Treat event is part of Magro Speech Therapy’s mission to create environments where all children can connect, play, and thrive.

“Too often, children with disabilities don’t get the chance to participate in events like trick-or-treating,” said Marissa Magro, owner of Magro Speech Therapy. “As a community, we have a responsibility to change that by becoming more aware, more understanding, and more accommodating. Every person deserves the opportunity to be included and participate in a way that’s meaningful to them.”

Shaping Tomorrow’s Inclusive Leaders

A defining feature of the event is its ongoing partnership with St. Bonaventure University’s School of Business. Students from a variety of disciplines—including business, education, speech-language pathology, and occupational therapy—are actively involved in planning and implementing the event. From coordinating logistics to designing inclusive activities, these future professionals are gaining hands-on experience in cultivating empathy, accessibility, and leadership.

“This partnership has made the event about so much more than a fun afternoon,” Magro explained. “It’s become a platform for shaping future professionals who will carry forward a mindset of inclusion and acceptance into their careers and communities. We’re building a future where accessibility is the standard—not the exception.”
